Morgan Yachts commissioned Nelson/Merek to design a fast 45 foot yacht that would comfortably accommodate a cruising couple or family, while exhibiting superior performance in a racing environment. The Morgan 454 has a PHRF rating of 66 and can provide exhilarating speed whether racing or cruising.

This wonderful yacht has never been in saltwater, and was outfitted by the current owners as a long distance cruiser. Even though they have not left the Great Lakes, the yacht has been their live aboard for several summers. The Yacht features custom-built stainless stanchions, stern rail, oversized bimini, outboard hoist, and 31” high lifelines. The bow anchor locker has been expanded to hold 2 Danforth anchors, fenders, and shore power. A Horizon 1000 Windless, with a 45# Delta Quick Set, winds 200’ of chain out of and into a separate chain locker.

Below decks this is a yacht made for comfort, with a new teak and holly sole, 6’6” of headroom throughout, custom cabinetry, and two staterooms. She has an excellent galley with a large fridge, separate freezer, gimbaled stove, and a built-in microwave/toaster oven. The equipment and systems aboard are extremely well conceived, and well executed. The deck hardware, lines, and rigging are as well designed as is the interior.
