From the outside, the Bayliner 3587 appears to be a relatively straightforward thirty-five foot aft cabin design with little to differentiate her from other small motor yachts her size. Looks can be deceiving: Inside, the 3587 provides three staterooms, where her competitors offer only two. The third stateroom is located beneath the elevated dinette, and while it’s not really a full-size cabin, there’s a roomy double berth and partial standing headroom along with a privacy door and a large hanging locker. To accomplish this innovative floor plan, Bayliner engineers moved the galley up into the salon and employed a rather interesting combination of three doors forward, leading to the two staterooms and the head. The salon is modest in size, and boasts a dinette seating area to port; the owner’s aft cabin is surprisingly roomy, and includes an island berth, head, vanity, and shower. Additional features include a lower helm, a bigger-than-average aft deck, and relatively wide side decks. “Adventure” is powered by twin, 310-hp Cummins diesel engines with only 500-hours; she’ll cruise at 16-knots, and run at a top speed of around 20-knots. This boat is extremely clean, well maintained, loaded with extra equipment and one of the most reasonably priced diesel, mid-size motor yachts to be found on the market today.
