Thompson Trawlers, built in Titusville, Florida, were originally designed as commercial fishing trawlers. As a result, the Thompson Trawler Yachts became famous as comfortable cruising trawlers with incredible strength and seaworthiness. The company built the same general design in two sizes, the 33' model and the 44' model. Both these yacht designs have an honest straight forward appeal. Their nautical lines are set in a semi-displacement hull that is easily and economically driven by twin diesel naturally aspirated inboard engines. The flybridge and three levels of deck areas are perfect for fishing and outdoor recreation. The three cabin areas (forward cabin, raised pilothouse/ saloon, and aft cabin) create a comfortable live-aboard environment. Accommodations: Overnight accommodations are provided for seven passengers in five berths. Interior cabin areas include forward cabin, raised pilothouse/ saloon, and aft cabin. Other interior features include parquet sole, mini blinds, eighteen windows, teak trim, brass lamp, fabric or vinyl covered cushions, 110-volt AC electrical outlets throughout, and AC/ DC lighting throughout. The forward cabin area includes passenger stateroom, ensuite head, galley, and convertible single berth/ dinette. The forward passenger stateroom is equipped with double berth, access to chain locker, overhead sunlight/ escape hatch, cabinet-style under-berth storage compartments, and privacy door. The forward stateroom ensuite head has marine toilet, tile countertop, hot/ cold pressure water, stainless steel sink, handheld shower, drainable floor, shower curtain, towel rack, and privacy door. The convertible single berth/ dinette features seating for four, teak pedestal table, two large utensil drawers, and under-berth storage compartments. The dinette berth might be considered a short double or just a single berth. From the galley/ dinette area, passengers climb three steps up to pilothouse/ saloon. The raised pilothouse/ saloon is an open layout and a wonderful area for entertaining. The pilothouse/ saloon is equipped with full instrumentation helm, pedestal captain’s seat with footrest and arm rests, portside chart table built into dash, two overhead map drawers, two teak companionway doors that access port/ starboard side decks, two wood pedestal cocktail tables, L-shaped convertible settees (convert to two single berths), six-rod teak overhead fishing rod rack, teak overhead grab bars, and teak built-in countertop. From the pilothouse/ saloon, passengers have forward access to forward cabin and aft access to aft cabin. The aft cabin area includes captain’s stateroom with ensuite head. The aft captain’s stateroom is equipped with queen-size berth, overhead sunlight/ escape hatch, six double-door teak cabinets (three to port and three to starboard), eight teak wardrobe drawers (four to port and four to starboard), full-size hanging locker, and privacy door. The captain’s head is equipped with marine toilet, tile countertop, under-counter, storage cabinet, vanity mirror, hot/ cold pressure water, stainless steel sink, handheld shower, bathtub, shower curtain, towel rack, toilet-paper holder, and privacy door. Galley Equipment: The galley is equipped with hot/ cold pressure water, double stainless steel sink, three-burner electric stove/ oven, electric microwave, 110-volt refrigerator, countertop, built-in stovetop cover (chopping board), five pantry cabinets, and teak dishes/ cups/ paper towel rack. Electronic and Navigational Gear: Two helm stations are provided: pilothouse helm and flybridge helm. The pilothouse helm is equipped with two key-start ignitions, wood steering wheel, dual forward/ reverse throttle sets, dash mounted gauges, and overhead mounted electronics. Dash mounted gauges at pilothouse helm include two each: oil pressure, water temperature, hour meter, volt meter, and bilge lighted switch start. The flybridge helm is equipped with stainless steel steering wheel, dual forward/ reverse throttle sets, and dash mounted gauges. Dash mounted gauges at flybridge helm include two each: oil pressure, water temperature, and RPM meter. Electrical/Gas/Plumbing: The boat is equipped with both 12-volt DC and 110-volt AC electrical system. Electrical features include 4D marine batteries, Kohler 10 kW diesel generator, small inverter, shore power inlet, ship-to-shore power cord, Phase 3 built-in smart battery charger, two Perko battery isolator switches, accessory panel, and AC/ DC master control panel. Water systems include 200-gallon fiberglass freshwater tank, 25-gallon plastic holding tank, 10-gallon electric or engine driven hot water heater (working, but rusty appearance), new hot water heater (uninstalled, to replace rusty one), deck pump-out fixture for holding tank, hot/ cold pressure water to cabin, saltwater pump, and manual/ auto bilge pumps. Hull and Deck Gear: The hull is built of fiberglass, and the decks are fiberglass with non-skid surface. Deck layout includes deck at bow, foredeck over forward cabin, walkaround decks (port, starboard, and aft), upper aft deck, and flybridge. Hull and deck features include stainless steel rails/ stanchions (lower, middle, and upper decks), gunnel/ toe rail, stainless steel deck cleats, transom-length teak swim step, dinghy davits, live bait well (needs new pump), stainless steel ladder to upper aft deck, stainless steel flybridge ladder, full instrumentation flybridge helm, flybridge helm seat, storage cabinet, and portable flybridge tackle box. Anchor gear includes teak bow pulpit (with built-in roller and stainless steel anchor guard), full-size bow anchor, chain, rode, stainless steel T-bar tie down, two stainless steel chocks, Simson Lowrance electric anchor winch, stainless steel hawse pipe, and portable stern anchor. Safety gear includes eight PFD’s, horseshoe buoy, two fire extinguishers, flare kit, docking line, and fenders. Canvas inventory includes full canvas flybridge enclosure, forward windshield cover, and two companionway door window covers. The boat completed last haulout for service and bottom paint in 2006. Equipment/Engine Details: Engine Details: Power package includes two 1978 Perkins 130 HP diesel inboard engines with 2,800 hours. The boat cruises at 8 knots and reaches maximum speed of 10 knots. At cruising speed, the engines burn a total of about four gallons per hour. The engines are naturally aspirated, which is less wear and tear than turbocharged. Other engine features include 800-gallon fiberglass fuel tank. The vessel is equipped with working engine room that is located below the pilothouse/ saloon. The engine room houses the twin diesel engine power package, generator, batteries, and hot water heater.
