For over thirty-one years, Radon has been the benchmark by which all commercial diving, fishing, and hardcore sport boats are measured. From Alaska to Mexico and throughout the Hawaiian Islands, Radon boats have proven themselves to be the boat of choice for serious fishing and diving.

This 27 x 9 Custom Radon has many possibilities: commercial diving, commercial fishing, sport boat, or 6-pak charter. Also included is a working hookah dive system. If you are a diver, you can walk aboard and go to work.

Accommodations: Overnight accommodations are provided for two passengers in two berths. Cabin areas include forward cuddy cabin followed by semi-enclosed pilothouse. The cuddy cabin is equipped with two side-by-side single berths, under-berth storage compartments, storage cubby (between the berths), access to wiring, one step up to pilothouse, and lockable companionway door. The pilothouse is equipped with full instrumentation helm, captain’s pedestal seat, vinyl covered cushion, teak trim, five windows, under-cabin-sole dry storage compartments, Freeman aluminum hatch, standing room for crew members, and open access aft to working cockpit. Other interior features include fiberglass sole and 12-volt light fixtures.

Galley Equipment: None.

Electronic and Navigational Gear: The pilothouse helm is equipped with two MerCruiser key-start ignition panels, forward/reverse throttle set, stainless steel sport steering wheel, dash mounted gauges, and dash mounted electronics. Electronic and navigational gear includes Furuno 16-mile radar, Furuno Navigator GPS / chart plotter (includes GPS, chart plotter, nav data, steering, highway, speedometer, and customizable modes), Furuno LS 6000 waterproof fishfinder / sounder, Standard Horizon VHF marine radio, Gemini compass, and USCG standard running lights. Furuno closed array dome, Furuno GPS antennae, and VHF marine radio antennae are mounted on aluminum radar mast.

Electrical/Gas/Plumbing: The boat is equipped with 12-volt DC electrical system. Electrical features include two marine batteries, alternator charging system, and accessory panel.

Water systems include both automatic and manual bilge pump.

Hull and Deck Gear: The hull design is modified vee, suitable for West Coast sea conditions, and enables the boat to stay on a plane and maintain a high speed in both forward sea and following sea conditions. This is the notable design of choice among commercial fisherman from Southern California to the Pacific Northwest. The hull is built of hand-laid fiberglass, and the decks are fiberglass with non-skid gelcoat deck surfacing. Deck areas include deck at bow with ample room for commercial-type anchor gear, narrow side deck walkaround, large working cockpit, and aft raised deck over the engine compartment. Hull and deck gear includes stainless steel bow eye, rubber rub rail, two stainless steel deck cleats, two teak foredeck grab rails, two teak cabin top grab rails, aluminum radar mast, washdown decks, raised gunwales, and two scuppers. Anchor gear includes 16-lb. Bruce anchor, chain, rode, stainless steel bow roller, hydraulic winch, and commercial chain spooler. Safety gear includes three PFD’s, fire extinguisher, flare kit, and docking line. Canvas inventory includes canvas back drop to enclose pilothouse. Fishing and sports gear includes large in-deck fish hold, aluminum davit, and hookah dive system. The hookah dive system includes motor, compressor, and volume tank.

Equipment/Engine Details: Boat package includes three-axle galvanized Trailrite trailer. Trailer features include safety chain, hand-crank boat pulley, four carpeted bunks, fenders, and two carpeted boat guides.

Engine Details: Power package includes two circa 1999 220 HP MerCruiser 4.2 liter D-Series turbo diesel I/O’s with 3,000 hours. The repower was completed by Greg Cooper. The boat cruises at 20 knots and reaches maximum speed of 35 knots. Other engine features include two MerCruiser Bravo 2 outdrives, two thee-blade props, freshwater cooling system, and two fiberglass tanks with total 235-gallon capacity.

The sealed engine compartment is a major safety feature of Radon boats. The engine compartment has three aft vents, bilge, port housing for volume tank, starboard battery shelf, and fiberglass hatch that serves as an aft deck platform.

Remarks: KICK & PICK has been working as an urchin dive boat out of Ventura for many years. The 27 Radon is an excellent ocean boat with its commercial integrity, trailerability, and all-around fishing capability. The 9’ beam allows for more deck space and more stability at sea. Owner is motivated!
