The ultimate, commercial-quality, long range fisherman!

For over 40 years, Radon has been the benchmark by which all commercial diving, fishing and hardcore sport boats are measured. From Alaska to Mexico and throughout the Hawaiian Islands, Radon boats have proven themselves to be the boat of choice for serious fishing and diving. Because Radon boats are custom made, you get exactly the boat you want! All at a price you can afford.

This 26 X 8.5 Custom Radon was built by H&F Custom Boats (Bandon, OR) in 1990. The hull is a redesign of the classic Radon commercial boat used for nearly three decades throughout the Pacific. Its large strakes and hard reverse chine are a testament to its heritage as an indestructible, rough-water, dry-riding boat. The Radon hull has been redesigned to better satisfy the needs of the sport boat market. With its raised gunnels, the 26 X 8.5 Custom has greatly improved safety, comfort, and fish ability. A slightly increased deep-V gives the 26 X 8.5 Custom improved handling and comfort in a head sea, without compromising its unsurpassed performance in a following sea.

Accommodations: Overnight accommodations are provided for two people in one large V-berth or two side-by-side bunks. Interior layout includes forward cuddy cabin followed by enclosed pilothouse. Cuddy cabin features include two single berths, removable center-board for V-berth, vinyl covered cushions, under-berth storage compartments, night table, under-night table storage area, removable carpet, two windows, and aft companionway to pilothouse. Pilothouse features include vinyl covered fold-down captain’s chair, teak footrest, two port shelves, MVP electric fan, seven windows (two side windows are sliders), and lockable sliding companionway door.

Galley Equipment: None.

Electronic and Navigational Gear: The helm is equipped with sport steering wheel, key-start ignition, forward/reverse throttle set, trim tab control, dash mounted gauges, and overhead/dash mounted electronics. Electronic and navigational gear includes Robertson Norway AP1000 autopilot, Standard Horizon Intrepid VHF marine radio with built-in distress cell, Ranger AR-3500 VHF marine radio, Uniden Pro 510 VHF marine radio, Raytheon V800 color echo sounder fishfinder, Furuno 1720 4-tone 16-mile radar with closed array, Garmin GPS 162 map, Quicksilver compass, Jensen 400 M AM/FM/CD stereo, two Pioneer speakers, mast light, and USCG standard running lights.

Electrical/Gas/Plumbing: The boat is equipped with 12-volt DC electrical system. Electrical features include two marine batteries, battery isolator switch, and accessory panel.

Water systems include Rule 1000 auto bilge pump and Rule 1500 fish hold pump.

Hull and Deck Gear: The hull design is modified vee, suitable for West Coast sea conditions, and enables the boat to stay on a plane and maintain a high speed in both forward sea and following sea conditions. This is the notable design of choice among commercial fisherman from Southern California to the Pacific Northwest. Hull and decks are constructed of hand-laid fiberglass. Deck layout includes deck at bow, narrow walkaround decks, large working cockpit, port/starboard/aft deck aisles around engine compartment, and aft deck over engine compartment. Other deck features include stainless steel bow eye, wash down decks, raised gunwales (extra high around transom area), non-skid deck surfacing, two teak foredeck grab rails, two teak cabin top grab rails, four stainless steel deck cleats, deck light, aluminum radar arch (swivels down for trailering), two aft deck shelves, and two stainless steel stern eyes. Anchor gear includes 30-lb. Bruce anchor, 25’ of chain, 200’ of rode, stainless steel T-bar tie down, two stainless steel chocks, and chain locker. Safety gear includes fenders and docking line. Fishing and sports gear includes large in-deck fish hold and four-rod rocket launcher. In April 2008, the entire boat was painted: LP on hull above the waterline, non-skid on decks, and antifouling bottom paint on underside of hull.

Equipment/Engine Details: The boat comes with 1990 Pacific two-axle galvanized trailer. Trailer features include hand-crank boat pulley, safety chain, and four carpeted bunks.

Engine Details: The power package includes 165 HP MerCruiser D-219 turbo ZC 6-cylinder in-line diesel I/O engine with 6,000 hours. The boat cruises at 15 knots and reaches maximum speed of about 25 knots. Other engine features include 150-gallon aluminum fuel tank, Bravo II outdrive, Raycor fuel filter, two stainless steel hydraulic trim tabs, four-blade stainless steel prop, four three-blade aluminum props, hydraulic steering, and hydraulic clutch.

One of the safety features of H&F Custom Boats is the sealed engine compartment. Engine compartment features include fiberglass access hatch.

Remarks: Right here you have the ultimate, commercial-quality, superior riding, long range, easily trailerable fisherman. Whether intended for commercial, recreational, or charter use, the boat promises to provide you with years of good service and fun trips to the Channel Islands and beyond!
