Talented designer/builder, Michael Radon, has spent his entire life making a living on the ocean: diving, fishing, building boats, now he also raises abalone on a farm in New Zealand. Along with his father and two brothers, he helped build the first Radon boat in the 1960’s. In keeping with the strengths of the original Radon design, heavier hand-laid fiberglass hull, and modern improvements, he built this 27 x 8.5 custom NZ Radon and imported it (Ocean Pacific Yacht Sales helped with the importing) to California. Brand new, the boat and trailer arrived in San Pedro, and we first launched the boat here in Channel Islands Harbor, Oxnard, CA. The boat continues to be an excellent boat for Pacific Coast fishing and diving. As with the Radon type design, the boat handles really well in rough water ocean swell, head sea, following sea, and all but the worst of sea conditions.
