A classic 1964 (Originally launched 10/8/64) HUCKINS LINWOOD 56 Flybridge Flushdeck Motoryacht powered by Twin 671 TI Detroits (435 HP each). The Huckins 56 Linwood model was built with a cold-molded hull sheathed in epoxy fiberglass cloth. KYMA has been owned by the same 80 year old owner for quite some time out of Falmouth Harbor Cape Cod but , in his words, the boat has gotten "ahead of him" over the past several years and needs a new owner's TLC and updating. That said, the boat is sound, runs well and has been constantly updated/upgraded over the years and could make someone an excellent "summer liveaboard" or with modifications a potential year round liveaboard. The current owner has run her up and down the East Coast and usually wintered in Northern VA. or NC. THis LINWOOD is the PLAN B interior layout with 3 staterooms/ 3 heads/ huge salon/ queen master stateroom aft; guest stateroom amidship and crew stateroom vee berths in the bow. The "Wheelhouse" is hard enclosed on 3 sides with a drop curtain across the aft section. The "wheelhouse" features port and starboard sofas; a wet bar; full width helm station with center line helm; aft of the "Wheelhouse" is an aft deck with dinghy winch and master stateroom access door, and a ladder accessing the teak swim platform. Side gunwale walkarounds to the bow are wide with plenty of safety grab rails; There is an access door to starboard from the "Wheelhouse" area to the starboard side deck walkaround. The hull is fiberglass over wood and there is some cracking in the awlgrip coating over the fiberglass and her new owner will in all probability want to awlgrip the hull from gunwale to waterline (Seller has an estimate from a VA. yard $14,000-17,000 range for prep and awlgrip).HUCKINS YACHT COMPANY HISTORY:A proud history. And making more every day.PrewarIn 1928 Frank Pembroke Huckins sold his first yacht, a revolutionary Huckins Fairform Flyer, to David M. Goodrich for $15,000. Work on Hull #2 began immediately. In those days, the custom cruisers designed and built by FPH at his Jacksonville, Florida plant became the envy of the yachting world virtually overnight. Long before speed was all the rage on the water, Huckins yachts ranging from 45-56 feet were forging a reputation in performance.Fortunately, the stock market crash of 1929 had little initial effect on Huckins, which possessed a number of orders already in hand. David M. Goodrich, the original owner of Hull #1, Minim, now put Huckins to work on Maxim, a 54-footer powered with Sterling Dolphin Specials. The mid-30 s proved more challenging, but FPH never lost confidence in his dream and by the end of the decade sales were coming from across the country.PT Boat EraPrior to America s entry into WWII, Huckins' participation in the PT Boat development program came after vessels constructed by various builders failed to satisfy Navy requ
