OVER 200 PHOTOS TAKEN.8/14/09 Throttles cables changed and 100% ready. Give me a call for a sea trial. You won't be disappointed. 8/7/09 Launch and sea trial. GAUDEAMUS was launched this morning and prepared for sea trial. Systems and fluid levels checked and by mid-morning we were headed out on slightly windy but clear August day. After a short trip up the river, we were finally able to bring her up to cruising speed which turned out to be a very respectable 23.5 kts at 3200 rpm. She handles and rides like a much bigger boat. We purposefully headed into other boat traffic wakes and some confused seas and discovered she has a very soft and dry ride with no pounding even at cruise speed. We drifted for a while and she was extremely stable at all points of the compass. Speaking of the compass we were surprised the new compass was right on thru-out the spin. The Garmin GPS with the new black box and transducer worked great. Some minor adjustment of the screens will make her more user friendly. Lastly was her high speed run and we discovered that she needs new throttle cables, which will be done this coming week. Awesome Boat. See new photos of her in the water.8/6/09 After an intensive 6 week refit, GAUDEAMUS is ready for the water and will be launched 8/7/09. NOTE UP TO DATE PHOTOS ADDED 8/6/09. This week the following repairs were completed: new shift cables, new cockpit coamings, insulation was completed, new Garmin 3006 with black box and 20 degree tilted element transducer was mounted, software updated and tested. All electrical systems were checked and repaired. New anchor with deck chocks and hawse pipe were added. Final wax of hull and foredeck. Outriggers bases and new riggers installed.MAJOR REFIT IN PROGRESS: In 2003 new Mar
