Originally built for Vince Lazzara, the founder of Gulfstar Yachts, she was constructed with comfortable cruising in mind. This yacht has a very comfortable layout designed for extended long range cruising. A very hard to find economical yacht - ONLY 105 WERE MADE. Her interior is gorgeous appointed with all natural teak throughout, and plenty of storage.

The Gulfstar 44 has a fully enclosed and paneled afterdeck entertainment area. In this unique layout, the huge galley is located on the lower level. Aft stateroom, which is at the stern, has centerline queen berth and has a tub/shower, and forward stateroom has a v-berth with shower. Thus arranged, the Gulfstar 44 has one of the roomiest interior layouts available in a boat this size. Space for a washer/dryer is located next to the forward companionway steps, where a bulkhead door leads into the stand-up engine room.

Topside, a hardtop protects the aft deck from the elements, and wide sidedecks provide secure access to the foredeck. The galley features teak cabinets and drawers, a full size stand-up refrigerator, microwave and electric stove top and oven, double stainless sink and lots of storage.

SHE IS EQUIPPED WITH TWIN 160 HP PERKINS DIESELS IN A STAND-UP ENGINE ROOM. This vessel has a cruising hull speed of 9.5 knots and burns approximately 5 gallons per hour. SHE HAS A FULL DISPLACEMENT HULL WITH A DEEP KEEL BUT STILL DRAWS ONLY 4 FEET. She is square chined in the stern to minimize roll and enable stable smooth performance at sea.

This vessel is new to the Great Lakes. The current owner purchased this boat in Maryland 3 years ago. He has made many repairs and upgrades since. In the last two seasons he has put over 2,500 miles on the boat cruising the Great Lakes. Due to change in future plans she is being offered for sale.
