Detail ~ Detail ~ Detail. This yacht was restored over a multi-year process from stem to stern, masthead to keel. The owners successfully retained the character and design of Columbia. But in the process they completely rebuilt all interior bulkheads, cabinetry, electrical panel & wiring, new engine, new fuel and water systems and new tanks. By replacing, rebuilding or renewing every detail on the boat using the latest technologies and finest materials they have succeeded in recreating the look and feel of the old Columbia 38 in a package that is new, fresh and exciting. This restoration process compares favorably to the results one sees from the finest "East Coast" boatyards. The owners meticulously dealt with every item and issue of an older boat until today this is a 1966 boat in 2008 condition and to a much higher standard than one typically finds in today's production yachts! If you demand high quality but are seeking the value of acquiring an "older boat" ~ you must see this vessel!
Engine SpecificationsModel: 3GM30F Power: 27 HP
Hours: 100 Fuel: Diesel Fuel Capacity: 75 Gallons
AccommodationsThe owner's cabin custom mattress was acquired last year and is a most comfortable addition to the vessel. To eliminate mildew under the mattress a teak grate was custom designed to raise the matteress and provide ventilation. The stateroom has lockers and stowage with ventilation and easy access for personal gear, clothing and supplies. The head is well designed with all new equipment and an isolated fresh water supply to assure a sweet boat. All of the "seawater" systems for the head are still in place for the benefit of the intrepid traveler. There is appropriate locker stowage for supplies.
GalleyThe galley is the seagoing chef''s delight. Her refrigeration is a Tropi-Kool system that maintains her chill in a five (5) cu. foot box with an R-35 insulation value. The chef will enjoy cooking on a Force 10 ~ 3-burner stove. The oven can accommodate holiday cooking and the broiler will grill garlic bread or a steak nicely when enjoying a romantic evening or including friends after a day of sailing. Her three water tanks have a manifold system for managing the water supply. There is plenty of room for preparation and clean-up with generous counter space and a galley sink with hot & cold pressure water.
ElectricalA electrical panel was upgraded to a NewMar A/C ~ D/C Panel. The D/C side provides circuit breaker isolation of the various electrical systems. The A/C panel controls the incoming dockside 110 power and manages the outlets through circuit breakers. The boat was completely rewired and all runs are in conduit. But like the finest custom yachts, the wire runs are interrupted using R/J Blocks to provide easy access to the wiring where lighting and appliances are placed. Sometime in the future when things require updating or replacement, this forethought will make changes simple and convenient. The wire installation is masterful with all wiring properly run then attached to blocks and labeled meticulously.
