ATTENTION RACERS! Whether your an experienced racer looking to move up from the harbor "beer cans", or a beginning racer who doesn't have a budget of $100K+, here is your opportunity to jump right into the off-shore race circuit - with a historic, proven IOR racer. Are you thinking TransPac - Apollo V has 3 under her belt. Newport to Ensenada - she's getting equipped and ready for April 24, 2009. What makes her historic? Apollo V was the training sailboat for the America's Cup race team in the 1980's! Apollo V has also competed in the Admiral's Cup.
The owner's have been working to improve Apollo V cosmetically, and have considered making some changes to make her a more appealing cruiser. Please note, this is not a project boat, but rather a racing machine! If this sounds like the sailboat you're looking for, check out the sail inventory in the full specs and the photos taken during the San Diego to Ensenada race. Engine SpecificationsModel: 4108 Power: 35 HP

AccommodationsApollo V is very open below deck, allowing for her light displacement during races. Beginning forward is a huge sail locker, and given her sail inventory, this space is necessary. The owner had a custom foam mattress constructed and fitted to provide a "v-berth type" sleeping arrangement in the forward section as well. Just aft of this area is the galley to port and the double ice box storage to starboard. The navigational electronics are located under the ladder leading topside, and all pipe berths are aft, port and starboard, of this. Apollo V also has a LaVac head onboard.
As stated, Apollo V is wide open below, and with her low asking price, this allows her new owner a budget to make any upgrades or improvements to his/her taste. Perhaps this is your racing machine, or maybe you're looking to design your own cruiser. Whichever it is, Apollo V is ready to accommodate your desires! GalleyA very simple galley that functions well during races, yet still has much room for the owner to customize this space.
ElectricalApollo V has both shore power and battery bank power.
